Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is experiencing unprecedented growth. We are looking to hire on-call construction administrator(s) to work with our aviation group. Responsibilities include construction administration on airfield pavement and electrical systems projects; coordination of survey work and materials testing; serving as owner’s representative to monitor construction activities for compliance with plans and specifications; and assisting with progress meetings. Travel to construction sites is an essential function of this position; therefore, a valid driver’s license is required. Extended hours and overnight stays may be required. This position will be working at various airport sites; therefore, the ability to pass the airfield security screening process is required.
This position is part-time and will be located at various project sites around Michigan and neighboring states; it is currently an on-call (i.e., no benefits) position which could potentially be converted to a regular, benefits-eligible position.
The successful candidate will have an associate’s degree or higher in civil engineering, electrical engineering, civil technology, construction administration/management, or a related field AND at least two years of relevant construction administration experience; if no degree, then must have at least four years of relevant construction administration experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following: civil or electrical construction administration/observation; ASTM standard construction testing procedures; grade measuring equipment; reading civil or electrical construction plans and specifications; AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software.
