The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) is seeking a qualified candidate with experience in purchasing, contract administration and warehouse operations to fill a vacancy in the position of Manager of Purchasing & Materials Management. This position shall be responsible for managing the Purchasing and Materials Management Department at the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority. The Manager of Purchasing & Materials Management reports to the Chief Financial Officer and serves as a key member of the Finance and Administration team. The incumbent manages the technical and professional tasks in the procurement of equipment, services, materials and supplies for the RTAA, through fiscal and administrative analysis, the administration of competitive bidding processes, and the negotiation, development and administration of contracts; and is responsible for the supervision and management of professional and technical personnel. This position serves as a technical advisor to management at the RTAA on matters related to purchasing and materials management.
Education: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, or a related field. An equivalent combination of directly related purchasing experience may be substituted on a year for year basis (e.g., one year of full-time experience will be considered equivalent to thirty (30) semester or (45) quarter units of college course work).
Experience: Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience as a buyer in a centralized purchasing organization, which includes two (2) years of management and supervisory experience. OR Five (5) years of full-time, progressively responsible, professional experience in the management of a program area within the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority and documented professional development in supervisory and/or leadership skills.
Licensing: A valid driver's license is required at the time of application.
Certification: Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) preferred.
Experience: Experience managing large scale buying, specification writing, contract development and administration in an airport environment.

Additional Salary Information: Entry Salary: $75,600 - $95,068 annually, with opportunity for additional merit-based increases up to a range maximum of $114,535. Initial salary placement will be based upon experience and qualifications. This is an at-will, salaried position.
