The Deputy Airport Director assists the Airport Director with the management of the Tri-State Airport Authority. The individual implements and coordinates safety, security, and other rules and regulations for the Authority and assists the Airport Director with oversight of construction activities. Oversees the daily activities in airport operations (Aircraft Rescue FireFighting – ARFF), police and maintenance departments at the Tri-State Airport. The job will remain open till it is filled. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: managing and leading the Operations, Police and Maintenance Departments. This includes direct oversight of the Fixed Base Operation (FBO). Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with City, County, State, and Federal regulators and mutual aid agencies. Assist the Airport Director with coordination of construction projects. Manage snow removal operations. Ensuring the facility is clean and presentable. Makes sure the Airport is compliant with FAA and TSA regulations and local building and safety codes, and performs office duties such as: record keeping, scheduling, and employee evaluations. Individual must be able to work effectively and communicate tactfully with management, employees, Airport tenants and contractors. Performs other duties as assigned. Acts in place of the Airport Director in his/her absence.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
The Deputy Airport Director must be detail-oriented and possess leadership, communication and problem-solving skills. Individual must have a good knowledge of airport operations and management. Candidate must be able to provide team leadership, delegate work assignments, and ensure that work gets completed efficiently.
Requires a BS Degree in Aviation Administration/Management, or similar. Three years of airport operations and/or airport management experience; two years of professional experience in a supervisory level capacity a plus. Must possess a valid drivers-license and have a clean driving record.
Within the first six (6) months of employment, the following MUST be completed and/or obtained:
-AAAE Certified Member (CM) Designation
-Certificate in the National Incident Command System
Employment is contingent upon completion of a federal 10-year background investigation and/or a background investigation by any law enforcement agency. Employee must maintain appropriate security status. Individual will be required to work during an airport emergency and during snow removal. Must be available and on call 24/7. Individual will be exposed to outdoor conditions including, but not limited to, inclement weather, noise, fumes and chemicals.
