The San Luis Valley Regional Airport is looking for a hands on airport professional who wants to take a leading role in the airport's certification and safety program. The San Luis Valley Regional Airport is non-primary commercial service airport located in Southern Colorado.
Passenger traffic doubled from 2015 to 2017 and is growing. The airport is undergoing its first market area analysis with a strategy of growing to 10,000 enplanements during the next two-year term of Essential Air Service, which is set to begin October 1, 2018.
The Airport Operations/Maintenance Superintendent is an FLSA-exempt position under the general supervision of the Airport Manager. The Airport Operations/Maintenance Superintendent assigns, supervises, and inspects work of Airport Operations/Maintenance staff; assists with and performs airfield operations and performs other tasks to ensure compliance with FAA/TSA standards; and responds to and assists with the control of airport emergencies at the San Luis Valley Regional Airport.
Education and experience requirements:
• At least one year of responsibility in the operations of a FAR part 139 airport
• Associate’s degree, commensurate credits, or equivalent experience
• Colorado Driver’s License required or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire
• Previous supervisory experience
• Bachelor’s degree in aviation management, business management or similar field
• AAAE Airport Certified Employee or Certified Member
