The County of Volusia is seeking an Activity Projects Manager (Working Title: Director of Projects & Maintenance) for the Aviation & Economic Resources Division. This is an at-will management position located at Daytona Beach International Airport and is responsible for planning, managing and directing projects (includes capital, operation and real estate development), the state and federal grants program, contracts administration, engineering, environmental, facilities and grounds maintenance activities.
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Aviation, Engineering or related field and a minimum of five (5) years Airport Management or Construction experience. A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum requirements. The preferred candidate will have at least three (3) years of experience with construction project management (i.e., design, bidding & construction through close out), as well as, three (3) years of grant management and airport engineering experience.
License/Certification: Florida Driver's License (must obtain and maintain within 30 days of hire) Must obtain within six (6) months and maintain current valid Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) required Airport Ground Vehicle Operations Driver certification, which includes two-way communications with FAA Air Traffic Control Tower and navigation on the movement area.
Note: Must be able to successfully pass a fingerprint based criminal background check and drug test as a condition of employment.
