We currently have an opportunity for a PRODUCTION MANAGER to lead a highly skilled manufacturing group in our Torrance, California facility. In this position you will be responsible for the high-quality processing and assembly of precision Traveling Wave Tube (TWT) vacuum electronic components and assembly for commercial and government satellite applications; this requires meeting extremely high manufacturing standards with challenging lead times and cost considerations. You'll be responsible for the supervision and training of hourly employees in three cross-functional areas: Chemical Cleaning, High Temperature Furnace Brazing, and Vacuum Assembly. You will also support development and implementation of Lean process improvement plans, and provide accurate production status updates to Operations Management, Program Management, Engineering, and downstream production areas.
You will need at least five (5) years of experience with the processing and manufacturing of vacuum microwave RF devices, preferably TWT’s or other relevant experience. Other qualifications that will enable you to perform successfully in this position include: Previous supervisory experience is needed. Demonstrated leadership skills are necessary. Must be able to interpret detailed engineering drawings and associated assembly instructions. Effective verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to create documents, spreadsheets, and presentations utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Previous experience working in a clean room environment is helpful. Working knowledge of or experience with Lean Manufacturing principles is a plus. Experience in a union environment is beneficial. A relevant bachelor’s degree is required.
