A Human Resources Manager, Business Partner at Ball Aerospace is a multifaceted role supporting several client groups across the business. This position works together closely with the HR team to sustain our culture, drive outcomes in the best interest of the business and enable employees to be their best.
What you'll do:
Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, you will:
Develop and maintain effective working relationships, influence and challenge the leaders within the client groups on the development and delivery of HR strategies and initiatives.
Provide guidance for management and employees regarding personnel issues and disciplinary procedures, conduct investigations, coordinate employee status changes and conduct exit interviews for terminating employees.
Partner with the Talent and Organization Development team, when requested, on engagement/development activities within client groups.
Affirm a performance management culture within each assigned business area.
Ensure compliance with applicable company policies, governmental laws and regulations.
Drive, influence, advise and support the cultural and people aspects of organizational change, structures, people processes and best practice initiatives.
Support and promote diversity and inclusion at Ball, including participation in Ball Resource Groups.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Support Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary.
Work is performed in an office environment.
Travel and local commute between Ball campuses and other possible non-Ball locations may be required.

What you’ll need:
BS/BA degree in a related field plus ten (10) or more years of related HR experience, highly focused on employee relations.
Each higher-level degree, i.e. Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Two years of related experience may be substituted for each year of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
A strong proficiency in HR practices and employment law.
PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM SCP certification preferred.
A working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines including compensation, recruiting and employee development/training.
Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Strong conflict management and interpersonal skills including the ability to influence without authority, when necessary.
Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong attention to detail with good follow up skills.
Self-directed and motivated; requiring minimal supervision.
Strong multi-tasking skills to work multiple priorities.
Professionally handle confidential material and information, maintain discretion and establish a high degree of trust across the organization.
Strong work ethic.
Experience with developing diversity and inclusion activities a plus. Aerospace and Defense industry experience and/or government contractor experience a plus.
