Th Maryland Aviation Administration is currently accepting applications for Deputy Chief, Planning & Engineering (DOT Executive V), within the Division of Planning & Engineering at Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport).
Under the direction of the Chief of Planning & Engineering, this senior management level professional will be responsible for the execution of key capital projects, involving planning, design, environmental and construction. In addition, this position will be responsible for matters related to aircraft noise abatement and airport real estate. This responsibility includes leading a wide range of professional, paraprofessional staff and consultant team members who perform a variety of multi-discipline airport tasks and projects of various and considerable complexities.
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
Six (6) years of experience in administrative or professional work related to the job. This experience must include demonstrated managerial experience with complex technical responsibilities involving the oversight of planning, design, permitting, project management, contract administration, environmental, and/or construction activities.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
Experience with a large hub airport in some or all of the following areas: Planning, Engineering, Construction, Environmental, Real Estate Development and/or Program Management. Comparable experience in other modes of transportation will be considered.
Demonstrated ability/potential to direct and motivate senior level professionals effectively.
Excellent communication, organization, presentation, and writing skills.
Additional Salary Information: Salary compensation is in the range of $73,612 - $118,197 with associated state government health benefits and pension.
