The Managing Consultant is responsible for performing advanced forecasting and business planning analyses for airport clients. Role will include supervision, training and direction to subordinate staff.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESManagement of Staff and Work Product:•Train and develop staff.•Conduct/participate in staff reviews.•Ensure quality of client deliverables.•Prioritize work streams and tasks.•Coordinate and manage use of staff resources.Business Development:•Assist in various efforts to secure new business (development of proposals, project scoping, budgeting/estimating).•Participate in interview process with potential clients.•Develop and update marketing materials related to relevant business areas.Thought Leadership and Process Improvement:•Participate in the continual improvement process of analytical capabilities including:•Construction and logic of forecast efforts.•Standardization of data inputs (e.g., development and management of airline fleet outlook).•Standardization and improvement of forecast models and outputs.
•Standardization and improvement of presentations, summaries, and client deliverables.Airport Activity Forecasting:•Provide thought leadership on the logic and construct of forecast efforts.•Develop forecasts used for planning and bond feasibility study purposes.•Conduct meetings with stakeholders (airport client, airlines, community leaders, etc.) to solicit forecast inputs and present results.•Summarize and present forecast results in various forms suitable to need (forecast chapter in master plan or bond feasibility study, ratings agency presentation, face-to-face meeting with clients or stakeholders).Air Service Analysis:•Assist airport clients with the evaluation of Identification and analysis/quantification of air service risks and opportunities including:oNew route identificationoAt-risk existing serviceoIdentification of industry trends that may affect air service and assessment of risk or opportunityoLeakage to competing airportsoConduct/attend airline headquarters meetings in support of airport clientoWork with and manage the efforts of sub-consultantsAd Hoc/Other:•Work across R&A’s various service areas as needed.•Participate in/lead work not defined specifically under any single R&A service area, such as:oGating strategies and rule definitionsoPassenger segmentation studies to inform other efforts (origination vs destination, terminal-to-terminal connectivity)•Other as neededREQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS•Bachelor’s degree in a field that provides a strong foundation for aviation consulting, such as finance, accounting, business / quantitative analytics, economics, statistics, business administration or aviation management, mathematics.•Minimum of 5 years of experience with demonstrated increasing responsibility in airport consulting, management consulting or related field.•Possesses a familiarity with the airline industry or a desire to learn and grow in the aviation industry.•Excellent analytical skills.•Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communications skills.•High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).•Ability to work in a high-demand, fast-paced environment.•Willingness to travel to support R&A’s global project portfolio.PREFERRED SKILLS AND TECHNICAL EXPERTISE•Master’s degree in a field that provides a strong foundation for aviation consulting, such as engineering, aviation management, mathematics, statistics, business administration, or economics.•Extensive knowledge of best practices, methods, and principles utilized in strategic planning, financial analysis, forecasting, and/or airline revenue analysis.•Ability to apply advanced professional knowledge of the principles of management, business, marketing and administration in directing, supervising, and coordinating large and complex airport analysis projects.•Extensive knowledge of analytical techniques and related tools including statistical, spreadsheet, and databases.•Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with senior executives and staff at client organizations.•Knowledge of U.S. federal regulations related to airport grant funding and Passenger Facility Charges authority.We offer an extremely competitive benefits package with no out-of-pocket premium cost to the employee, as well as a generous paid time-off program and 401(k) company match to qualified employees.Relocation assistance may be provided.Ricondo & Associates, Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
