Under administrative direction, the Fire Chief, Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) plans, coordinates, directs, and manages all aspects of department operations; responds to and directs major emergencies; develops the departmental budget and controls expenditures; and supervises personnel.
Either: 1a. Possession of a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional Rescuer Certificate
1b. Graduation from an accredited two-year college program with an Associate’s Degree in fire technology, fire science, fire administration or a field directly related to the intent of this class.
1c. Four years of full-time paid experience in the class of Fire Battalion Chief, Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting in Sacramento County Service.
Or: 2a. Possession of a current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation for the Professional Rescuer Certificate
2b. Graduation from an accredited two-year college program with an Associate’s Degree in fire technology, fire science, fire administration or a field directly related to the intent of this class.
2c. Nine years of full-time paid experience performing firefighting duties, including four years of full-time supervisory experience.
