DEN's Airport Security Section resides within the broader Operations Division and is under the responsibility of the Director of Aviation Security. Airport Security is comprised of approximately 40 personnel across two main business units; Compliance & Enforcement and Badging & Permitting. This position leads the Badging & Permitting unit as Asst. Director of Aviation Security for Badging & Permitting and works in tandem with the Asst. Director of Aviation Security for Compliance & Enforcement.
• Management and enhancement of DEN's Participant & Authorizing Agent programs required of every new and existing company operating at DEN. and divisional Operations Instructions (OI) and Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG). • Serving as an Airport Security Coordinator (ASC) that is responsible for direct liaison with the TSA and other federal and local law enforcement agencies. • Fulfilling local (i.e. Colorado Open Records Act) and federal security –related data/records
Our ideal candidate will have the following experience and certifications:
ACE security certified
AAAE certified member
Program and project manager experience
Strong interest and familiarity with technology systems
Demonstrated experience supervising/managing in an environment that is regulated by local, state and/or federal requirements.
Experience in establishing and/or managing contracts
Experience in establishing and/or managing budgets

Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Business Management, Criminal Justice or a related field and three years of supervisory experience in aviation security or operations or three years of experience at an Administrator level in aviation security or operations.
Two years of the appropriate type and level of experience will serve as an equivalency to one year of education. In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, eight years of relevant experience can be substituted.
A Master's Degree may be substituted for one year of experience.
Possession of a valid Driver's license at the time of application.
Completion of Airport Security Coordinator (ASC) classroom training by a source recognized and approved by the Transportation Security Administration within 6 months of hire.
Completion of intermediate and managerial National Incident Management System (NIMS) and Incident Command System (ICS) training to fulfill Section Chief and potential Incident Commander responsibilities within 6 months of hire.
