Job Title: Operations Supervisor
Under the general supervision of an Airport Duty Manager (ADM), ensures that the conditions and safety of the airport is maintained in compliance and preparedness with local operational standards and regulations established by the Federal Government.
Monitor airfield and terminal conditions with regard to maintaining a safe, efficient and orderly operation in compliance with existing regulations;
Conduct inspections of the airfield to ensure compliance with Title 14 CFR Part 139;
Assist the ADM in the management of field operations and ensures compliance with airport and federal regulations;
Inspect runway, taxiway and ramp areas for changing surface conditions and briefs the ADM on those conditions and other events affecting airport operations;
Coordinate the dissemination of notice to airmen (NOTAMS) and airfield conditions via the FAA NOTAM Manager;
Assist the staff and Airport Duty Manager in charge of airfield construction with coordination construction activities;
Inspect concourses, cargo areas and the customs facility and coordinates special movements on the airfield such as VIP and/or charter operations, AIR EVAC, prisoner flights, etc.;
Conduct aircraft ground control, gate management and facility management, monitoring system software and makeing appropriate changes to reflect actual gate usage;
Resolve and report any inaccuracies or problems to Airport Duty Manger;
Assist the airlines and ground handlers in keeping the information in the gate management system software accurate and up-to-date;
Assist Airport Duty Manager in performing administrative duties related to the gate management software system;
Supervise the preparation of daily log and routine report forms and documentation for particular shift;
Provide point of contact for agencies and companies as may be related to airport operations;
Coordinate with FAA Air Traffic Control facilities any activities affecting the air operations area;
Implement disaster/emergency plan procedures as required;
Monitor weather conditions and forecasts as provided by various sources, and takes all precautionary measures necessary to prevent dangerous or hazardous conditions which may prevail during inclement weather situations and operates the Runway Friction Tester;
Serve as the contact for trouble shooting with the FIDS, jetways, baggage system, APC’s and coordinate with the appropriate section;
Document details related to incidents on airport property;
Actively participates in on-going training programs;
Performs other related tasks as assigned or required;
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Extensive working knowledge of FAA Ground Control radio procedures;
Basic knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations to be able to ensure compliance by airlines, tenants, and other users of the airport;
Knowledge of gate management software systems sufficient to be able to monitor activity and make appropriate changes to ensure accurate records;
Skill in the simultaneous use of several radio frequencies sufficient to be able to provide and receive information from airport, FAA, airline, and other personnel;
Skill in applying existing guidelines or recommending new approaches to the development and modification of work plans, methods and procedures for the work unit function;
Skill in prioritizing and coordinating simultaneous activities to ensure effective and efficient completion of the work assignment;
Considerable knowledge of FAA requirements, policies and procedures and regulations, specifically Parts 77, 1542, 139 and 150;
Considerable ability to analyze situations quickly and objectively and to determine a proper course of action during emergencies;
Knowledge of snow removal and ice control operations;
