The Bishop International Airport Authority is seeking a Director of Maintenance & Facilities. This is a challenging, management level position in a dynamic and fast-paced non-hub airport. The position involves leading a team of 13 maintenance personnel to provide for the continued safe and efficient operation of the airport both airside and landside. The candidate will perform a wide variety of activities to include teaching and leading staff, vendor management, project management, and construction project oversight. The position works closely with all airport departments and local stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be forward looking with airport experience as well as snow operations experience. We are seeking a candidate with at least seven years of maintenance experience at an airport, multi-building education facility, hospital or an equivalent environment. Supervisory experience with a maintenance team is desirable. Employment is contingent on passing a physical and drug screen as well as a background check.

Bishop International Airport is a commercial service and general aviation airport located in Flint, Michigan. It is named after banker and General Motors Board Member Arthur Giles Bishop. The airport is owned and operated by Bishop International Airport Authority (BIAA) which is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of nine members who are appointed to three-year terms. The Mayor of the City of Flint and the Genesee County Board of Commissioners make the board appointments on an annual basis. The Airport Director reports directly to the Board. In 2017, FNT’s enplanements were approximately 395,000 making it the third busiest airport in Michigan. Current capital projects include the rehabilitation of Taxiway C, security fencing and gate replacements, Security System Access Controls Upgrade, and Terminal Landside Carpet Replacement. Future projects include Terminal Roof Gutter Repairs, Runway 9/27 Rehabilitation and Obstruction Removal.
