This position plans, directs, and provides executive management at Dallas Executive Airport, assigns and reviews performance of subordinate managers and supervisors, oversees financial and budgetary management, operations review, administrative direction, and quality control of assigned departmental programs, functions, and / or divisions to ensure effective performance. Completion of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public Administration, Airport Management, Business Administration, Budget, Finance or a related field. Master’s degree preferred. Qualified applicants will have at least 5 years of broad progressive management experience in the aviation field and have an established track record for effectively working with various departments including the City Manager’s Office and Mayor / City Council and contractors. Qualified applicant will also have extensive experience working with procurement, civil service and budget policies and procedures for an efficient and effective management. Executive certification (AAAE or ACI- NA), Certified Aviation Manager (CAM) or IATA Aviation Management Professional (AvMP) designation. Five years professional level experience in airport operations / airport management at a FAR 139 certified airport or military based operations / airfield with responsibility for safe inspection and oversight of airfield facilities. Effective oral and written communication skills; MS Office software skills. Knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) safety rules while working in Air Operations Areas and procedures for communicating with FAA Air Traffic Control Tower is required. Ability to interpret and implement government airport regulations and policies is required. Driver’s license and Security Identification Display Area clearance required. Familiarity with the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and utilization to drive business to Dallas Executive Airport
Dallas Executive Airport’s operations are a 24 / 7 / 365 operation which includes nights, weekends and holidays. Additionally, this position is required to work during irregular operations (i.e., snow/ice days, special events).
