Collins Aerospace is currently looking for a Senior Quality Site Leader to join the leadership team, that will be responsible for driving the strategy, leadership and quality direction within its Foley, Alabama, Original Equipment Manufacturing facility, a large site that is rapidly growing!
Primary Job Responsibilities
Oversight of compliance of products and processes used by the location internally in the production of aerospace products.
Oversite of the Tooling and Tool Quality Organization which supports manufacturing operations.
Analyze quality metrics to ensure cross-functional resources are properly aligned to reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
Create and communicate quality improvement plans.
Support and ensure timely response to customer inquiries to improve customer satisfaction.
Drive standardization of Quality Management Systems and standard work across the organization.
Provide expertise in Quality Assurance and process improvement tools/methods to targeted functions of the organization to support them in their continuous improvement activities.
Interface with production, engineering and other resources to conduct root cause corrective action analysis for problem-solving and process improvement.
Facilitate the investigation and elimination of causes of quality problems and follow up on corrective actions, including final approval before submission to the customer.
Understand internal and external customer requirements with a high attention to detail in resolving findings.
Participate in the internal Quality System Audit program for the organization, including the implementation of a Layered Process Audit System.
Ability to interface with all levels of management, external customers, and government agencies.
Support the daily activities of the functional Quality organization ensuring adequate resources are in place to support daily operations, cross training is happening to maximize the Quality staff.
Participate in regularly scheduled Gemba Walks to support operations in the Real-Time Problem Resolution process.
Participate in staff meetings and facilitate team meetings for the Quality Organization.
Develop, coach, mentor and manage staff. Establish goals and develop measurable metrics to gauge achievement against goals.
Experience & Qualifications
At least 5 years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Working knowledge of mechanical engineering, lean manufacturing.
Self-motivated with a passion for Quality and proven problem-solving skills.
Experience with the PPAP process.
Experience in continuous improvement methodology.
Ability to understand and interpret engineering technical data, such as manufacturing, part drawings, or industry standards to provide guidance to cross-functional teams.
Experience with statistical process control and lean practices.
Strong PC skills with proficiency in the following MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must be able to wear the necessary Personal Protective Equipment to work in clean room environments.
Develop and mentor team members & leaders.
Proven leadership skills with ability to develop, enhance and support effective teamwork.
Ability to travel both domestically and internationally to support the business needs.
Willing to relocate to Foley, Alabama area, relocation or interview travel reimbursement may be available.
Quality standards including AS9100D and ISO9001:2015.
SAP and/or other MRP programs.
Shainin RedX or Six Sigma experience.
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business or other related discipline with 8+ years of related experience required.
Advance Degree in Engineering, Business or related discipline with 6+ years of experience preferred.
