Under administrative direction by the Director of Airports and as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Chief of Engineering and Planning provides leadership, strategic direction and operational guidance including but not limited to the following areas: Five-year and ten-year Airport Capital Improvement Plan (ACIP), Master Planning, AIP Funding, Project Development and Implementation, Stakeholder Relationships, Airpace, NAVAIDS, Airfield Components, Environmental, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Non-Aeronautical Development, Business Development, Senior Leadership, Leadership and Team Development, and Strategic Liaison.
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration/management planning from an accredited college or university; Master's degree is preferred in engineering, planning, business administration/management
10 years full-time experience performing duties which include challenging and complex engineering projects
Current and valid registration as a Civil Professional Engineer (PE) issued by the state of Ohio or must acquire within one year of hire
5 years of management experience with direct supervisorial responsibilities of team In addition to the required qualifications, the following is preferred:
At least 6 years airport experience, with at least 3 in a senior role at a US Airport with moderate air carrier service, dealing directly with issues related to planning and development. (Preference given for 5 years’ experience in construction and the management of construction projects.)
AAAE accreditation or IAP desirable, but not required
5 years’ experience working with FAA and other regulatory agencies? Experience with grant programs and compliance (AIP, PFC's, etc.) is preferred
