The City of Mason City, IA is seeking an Airport Manager to plan and administer the overall operation of the Mason City Municipal Airport. The position is responsible for a $1.6 million capital and operating budget and a staff of 6 full and part time positions. The Airport Manager will report directly to the Airport Commission. The ideal candidate will possess experience as an Airport Manager, Assistant Airport Manager, or Airport Operations Supervisor; experience managing employees; and experience in budgeting and management
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business Management, Public Administration, or closely related field AND three years of progressively responsible airport management experience at a general aviation or commercial service airport. Starting salary is $78,000 annually plus an attractive benefit package.

About City of Mason City - Mason City Municipal Airport
The Mason City Municipal Airport has been serving Mason City and the surrounding area since 1927. The Airport employs one Airport Manager and four full-time and two part-time employees.
The Airport is designated by the FAA as an Essential Air Service (EAS) airport. Air Choice One currently holds the EAS contract at Mason City and provides daily flights to Chicago, Minneapolis and St. Louis. The airport has two runways. Runway 18-36 is the airport’s primary runway and is 6,501 feet long – 150 wide. Runway 12-30 is the secondary crosswind runway and is 5,502 feet long – 150 wide.
The City owns three 10 unit Erect A Tube Hangars for individual storage for single aircrafts. All units are currently rented and the airport has a t-hangar waiting list of 13 pilots. There are seven executive private hangars with another currently being constructed.
The airport has a lease agreement with a full service Fixed Base Operator, North Iowa Air Service whom provides full-service fueling, aircraft charter/aircraft management, flight instruction full-service maintenance, aircraft rental, aircraft sales, aircraft storage and much more.
