ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Public Works Construction Division Engineering Supervisor this position will assist with construction management of the City's capital improvement projects, Right-of-Way, and infrastructure related to private development.
Inspect construction of streets, bridges, sanitary sewers, storm drains, water systems, parks, facilities, and franchise utilities.
Verify work and materials meet City and WSDOT compliance requirements.
Approve field changes, document as-builts, and verify "record drawings".
Prepare daily inspection reports, field note records to support monthly progress payments, and arrange for material testing.
Review submittals and permit applications.
Respond to questions and concerns from the public.
Education and Experience
AA degree in Engineering or related field with 2 or more years of vocational training/experience in construction inspection or similar field.
High School diploma or GED with 5 or more years of vocational training/experience in construction inspection or similar field
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
A combination of the education and experience that would provide the applicant with the desired knowledge, skills and abilities.
A BSCE in Civil Engineering or Construction Management also meets the position qualification requirements
Valid WA state driver's license and a driving record that meets City standards.
