The Airport Operations Manager at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority provides management of airfield operations at the Gerald R. Ford International Airport (GFIA). This leadership position is an essential role for the GFIA as the individual provides and implements policies and procedures to ensure the airport operates in compliance with all applicable rules, regulations, and requirements. The role also provides supervision and management for Airport Operations Officers and the Airport Communications (Dispatch) Specialists. The Airport Operations Manager reports to the Director of Public Safety and Operations at the GFIA.
Thorough working knowledge of FAR Parts 77 and 139, Transportation Security Regulation (TSR) Parts 1540 and 1542, and all other federal, state and local rules, regulations, standards and requirements governing air traffic, commercial and general aviation, airport safety and security, airport and movement area operating and maintenance standards, and other relevant matters.
Thorough working knowledge of the practices and principles of airport administration, operations, security and airfield maintenance.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Aviation Management, Aviation Science, Business Administration or other relevant field combined with five (5) years of progressively responsible experience, including two years supervisory experience, in airport operations or administration; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
