Sworn law enforcement officers perform the traditional Police Officer responsibilities in a unique airport environment. The department offers diverse assignments including K9, investigations, special response team, bike patrol, and drug enforcement. Training is continuous and convenient with a shooting range and training center located on airport property.
Must be 21 years of age or older and a citizen of the United States with a valid operator’s license and pass drug and criminal background screenings. Must not have been convicted of any felony, or of a misdemeanor, involving perjury or false statement.
And at least one of the following:
Sixty (60) or more semester hours/ninety (90) or more quarter hours from an accredited college/university, or
Two (2) years of active-duty military (if discharged must be under honorable conditions), or
Three (3) years of full-time work experience, or
Current Kentucky Peace Officer Professional Standards (POPS) certification and have served a minimum of one (1) year as a sworn officer, or
Certified Police Officer from another state and have served a minimum of one (1) year as a sworn officer.

Qualified applicants will complete a physical agility test, written assessment, and interview moving toward a conditional offer of employment. Note: Once a conditional offer of employment is made, candidates will sign an employment contract. Contract specifics will be discussed during the interview process.

Week of May 24 (dates/times TBD)- Interviews
Week of June 7 (date/time TBD)- Physical Agility Testing at Department of Criminal Justice Training, Richmond, KY
Required documentation: Copies of a Birth Certificate, Degrees or proof of required education, and any other pertinent paperwork, to include letters of recommendation and/or POPS Certification, DD214 (military), must be attached to the submitted application no later than 11:59p on April 30, 2021.
