The Durango-La Plata County Airport is accepting applications for the position of Airport Operations Administrator.
Under the direction of the Aviation Director, administers the airport’s Part 139 program, manages capital and operating projects, and coordinates with all airport tenants. Monitors daily operations of the airport including runways, taxiways, terminal, and other airport facilities to maintain a safe and efficient operation. Ensures the airport complies with all applicable TSA and FAA regulations to maintain its Part 139 commercial airport certification by complying with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Provides significant administrative support in the overall management and operation of the airport.
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Airport Management, Public Administration or closely related field. Minimum three years of progressively responsible experience in airport operations or administration at a Part 139 commercial service airport. Formal knowledge and experience with 14 CFR Part 139 and 77 regulations and 49 CFR Part 1542 security requirements.
Employment with the airport is contingent upon a background investigation, a fingerprint-based criminal history record check, and upon the ability to meet and maintain the qualifications necessary for unescorted access authority pursuant to 49 CFR 1542. Candidates must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Completion of AAAE basic and/or advanced ASOS schools is preferred. AAAE ACE-Operations certification is desirable or be willing to obtain within two years of employment.
