The Airport Wildlife Specialist is responsible for performing safe and efficient control and removal of wildlife hazards to aircraft in and around airport properties while complying with local, county, and Federal mandated regulations. The incumbent must meet all qualifications and be approved Wildlife Biologist per FAR 150/5200-36B or current version; maintain certification through an Airport Wildlife Hazard Management training course that is acceptable to the FAA Administrator. This is a non-exempt position subject to overtime and 24/7 call back. Must be a Qualified Airport Wildlife Biologist. A bachelor's degree in wildlife biology, wildlife management, range management, biology, ecology, zoology or a closely related field, PLUS two years of professional work experience in wildlife management, research or habitat management, OR a master's degree in wildlife biology, wildlife management, biology, ecology, zoology, range management or a closely related field. Must be certified through an Airport Wildlife Hazard Management training course and have worked under the direct supervision of a qualified airport wildlife biologist conducting at least one Wildlife Hazard Assessment acceptable to the FAA Administrator. Airport operations knowledge and/or experience is a plus.
Additional Salary Information: Minimum starting pay is $47,350 annually; non-exempt position subject to overtime.
