The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $125,000 with an attractive benefits package. A starting salary at or near the top-range is possible for an exceptional candidate.
The Birmingham Airport Authority is seeking a DBE Administrator. The DBE Administrator performs highly visible work in the planning, development, implementation, enforcement, monitoring and analysis of the Authority’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) and Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) programs, in compliance with Federal regulations. The successful candidate for this position will have a 4-year degree, from an accredited college or university, in Business or Public Administration, Human Resources, Public Policy or a related area of study and at least 3 years’ experience in the administration of DBE, MBE, contract management or contract compliance work, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the following: knowledge of the principles and practices associated with contract compliance, public sector procurement, and public bidding.

The successful candidate for this position will have a 4-year degree, from an accredited college or university, in Business or Public Administration, Human Resources, Public Policy or a related area of study and at least 3 years’ experience in the administration of DBE, MBE, contract management or contract compliance work, or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the following: knowledge of the principles and practices associated with contract compliance, public sector procurement, and public bidding. The candidate must have experience in certifying companies as DBE or ACDBE and filing annual reports with the FAA. The candidate must be able to communicate effectively and be comfortable making formal presentations to a variety of audiences; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management and the Authority Board as well as consultants, contractors and the public; and have the ability to interpret and apply federal regulations to Authority initiatives. The DBE Administrator must also be proficient in the use of Microsoft platforms such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
