Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, is seeking an experienced civil engineer to join our collaborative and innovative aviation team. This position will be a technical design lead for aviation projects throughout the northwest. Responsibilities include completing design of airfield project components including pavements, drainage, electrical, grading, utilities, and other civil design elements; analyzing and preparing engineering design reports, specifications, construction cost estimates, and plans for various airport design projects; performing drafting tasks in AutoCAD Civil 3D to generate plan sheets; reading and interpreting FAA Advisory Circulars, geotechnical reports, and survey data to utilize in project designs. This position will work as part of a design team which will include a project manager, EIT’s and PE’s along with CAD resources. Mentorship of junior engineers will also be expected. Travel will be required to project sites and to Mead & Hunt offices.

The successful candidate must have all of the following:

• a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in civil engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
• at least eight years of relevant work experience
• PE license in any state with ability to obtain an Oregon and Washington PE license within one year of start date

 

The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following:

• Design or pavements, grading and drainage
• AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D software programs
• Design reports and technical specifications
• Mentoring less experienced staff
