The Airport Operations Manager positions will: Oversee, develop, test and evaluate procedures to optimize preparedness to respond to any emergency or disaster at Austin Bergstrom International Airport (AUS). Coordinates with internal and external stakeholders in the development of airport emergency, irregular operation response, and business continuity plans. Design, trains and conducts emergency exercises and drills. Coordinates the development of the Airport Emergency Plan, policies and procedures, standards operating guidelines and various checklist. Researches, recommends, procures and assesses resource solutions, including people, equipment, services, and technology that will optimize overall emergency preparedness.
Education and/or Equivalent Experience:
Bachelors degree in Business or Public Administration, Aviation management or related field, plus five (5) years experience in airport operations, two (2) of which were in a supervisory capacity
One (1) year of relevant work experience may substitute for one (1) year of the required education up to a maximum of four (4) years.
Austin–Bergstrom International Airport or ABIA is a Class C international airport located in Austin, Texas, United States, and serving the Greater Austin metropolitan area, the 34th-largest metropolitan area in the United States. Located about 5 miles southeast of Downtown Austin, it covers 4,242 acres and has two runways and three helipads. It is on the site of what was Bergstrom Air Force Base. The airport and air force base were named after Captain John August Earl Bergstrom, an officer who served with the 19th Bombardment Group. The airport replaced Robert Mueller Municipal Airport as Austin's main airport. The Austin-Bergstrom International Airport is run by the City of Austin Aviation Department. The airport does not receive any general fund subsidy and has entirely paid its general obligation debt issued from airport-generated funds.
