The Prince George's County Department of Parks and Recreation, Natural and Historical Resources Division is currently seeking an Airport Operations Specialist for the historic College Park Airport in College Park, MD. Details of this position are listed below
Examples of Important Duties:
Meet and greet public; Answer questions about ground transportation, lodging, refueling, aircraft parking, air traffic control (ATC) procedures, accessing weather resources; Refuel aircraft; assist with aircraft parking; fuel farm and runway inspections; Cash handling and retail sales; Act as a TSA designated "Alternate Security Coordinator"; Monitor flight activities, airfield, and all airfield access points; Log aircraft operations, verify pilot credentials; perform minor maintenance-related duties.
This position pays at a rate of $15.00/hour - $16.80/hour dependent on experience and qualifications.
College Degree preferred;
Over 18 years of age;
Pass a Dept. of Homeland Security background check;
Working knowledge of office machines (cash register, radio) and computers;
Physically able to perform aircraft-related duties: climbing refueling stands and pushing aircraft;
Previous experience at a public airport in retail sales and service; basic knowledge of general aviation aircraft and their operating environment preferred;
Possession of an FAA Student Pilot Certificate desirable;
Able to work a flexible schedule, evenings, and weekends; and
Must possess a valid Maryland driver's license.
A complete background investigation will be completed prior to hire.

Other Bi-county functions include the Office of Inspector General, the Chief Information Officer, and Merit System Board.
The Commission’s governing body is comprised of ten Commissioners, 5 appointed to the Montgomery Planning Board and 5 appointed to the Prince George’s Planning Board, which have oversight of decisions for the Montgomery and Prince George’s region. The Commission appoints the bi- county officers of the Executive Director, Secretary-Treasurer, and General Counsel.
