The City of Shreveport offers health, dental and vision insurance coverage. Employees have the option of contributing to the City's retirement system or contributing to a 457(b) retirement fund. New employees accrue ten (10) days of vacation and ten (10) days of sick leave during their first year of employment. There are eleven (11) paid holidays per year.

The Shreveport Airports Department is seeking an experienced motivated individual to provide managerial oversight to the Airport Operations team. The Airport Operations Manager will perform a variety of airport operations duties as required by the Federal, State and local regulatory agencies at Shreveport Regional and Downtown Airports. The position will provide coordination among various airport divisions and individuals necessary to ensure airport security and safety for both airside and landside. The individual filling this position will be responsible for the effective and efficient operation of the airport and will be required to set priorities and establish leadership practices. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated success track record of applying administrative practices and procedures applicable to the operation of airport facilities.
A minimum of ten (10) years experience in the aviation industry either, civil or military, with a least six (6) years in a senior level management position. A minimum of a 4-year college degree in Aviation Management or a related field or equivalent combination of education and/or military experience that would likely provide the required knowledge.
Shreveport Airports are a department of the City of Shreveport. The Director of Airports is charged with management of the Shreveport Regional Airport (SHV) which is a commercial air carrier airport and the Shreveport Downtown Airport (DTN) which is Louisiana's largest General Aviation airport. The annual operating budget for the Shreveport Airports Department is approximately $23 million and the department employs approximately 60 people. Downtown Airport logged more than 37,000 airport operations in 2022 and has an Airframe & Powerplant school.
