This position serves as the first line responder in handling and investigating complaints of discrimination, identifying and resolving compliance issues. Complaints are received through walk-ins, written referrals, website and telephone complaints. Interviews witnesses and charging parties to determine validity of claims and recommending case resolutions. Responsible for evaluating, analyzing and monitoring results through project management to ensure full compliance with the goals of Kansas City International Airport’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), Airport Concession Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE), and Small, Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprise (SMWBE) programs. Communicates with Civil Rights Manager on compliance issues and remedies as appropriate. Gathers and reports statistical and other information as required for DBE and SWMBE programs under legal regulations; reviews third party contracts and lease agreements for compliance with the programs. Assists with outreach activities related to business development, diversity and inclusion, workforce development and the community.
REQUIRES Accredited Bachelor’s degree and three (3) years professional experience at a legal firm, governmental agency, intergroup relations or related area of work involving discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodation; alternative dispute resolution; analyzing affirmative action programs and MBE/WBE programs which promotes understanding among people regardless of race, color, religion, ancestry, or national origin, gender, disability or sexual orientation OR Accredited Master’s degree or Juris Doctorate and two (2) years professional experience at a legal firm, governmental agency, intergroup relations or related area of work involving discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodation; alternative dispute resolution; analyzing affirmative action programs and MBE/WBE programs which promotes understanding among people regardless of race, color, religion, ancestry, or national origin, gender, disability or sexual orientation.
