St. Louis Regional Airport, a Part 139 general aviation reliever airport, is currently accepting applications for an Assistant Airport Director. The position works directly under the supervision and guidance of the Airport Director and shall have the necessary skills and/or experience to perform the duties and responsibilities of the Airport Director in their absence. This position will assist in the daily administration and operation oversight of the airport to include FAA certification compliance and construction through the supervision of subordinate personnel. Responsible for the maintenance and instruction of Airport's 139 compliance training program. Ensures compliance with all FAA regulations and requirements. Individual will provide recommendations for improvements to current programs, procedures, and policies. Must have the ability to represent the Airport before civic or other organizational groups, courts, boards, and commissions. Position must be willing to take on special duties and projects as appropriate.
Associates Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration with course work in Airport Management, or related field required.
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience at a general aviation airport or air carrier airport, including experience in airport operations, grant application and administration, and management of complex airport projects is desired. Experience in other aviation fields will be considered.
Previous experience at Part 139 airports preferred
Experience or involvement with AAAE preferred
Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with tenants, co-workers, government agencies, chambers of commerce, and other business-related organizations
The ability to monitor tenant improvements and construction activities
Working knowledge of pertinent FAA regulations, Advisory Circulars, and Cert Alerts
Knowledge of pertinent federal, state, and local codes, laws, and regulations
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite
Previous experience in a leadership role preferred.
Must be licensed and able to operate a motor vehicle.
