Supervises staff in the Airport Operations Division, which includes Airfield Maintenance and Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting. Must plan, direct, assign, and motivate/evaluate the work of 18 employees who are responsible for providing all airfield safety, maintenance, operations, construction, snow removal, and emergency services. This individual will be required to prepare records and reports; develop, conduct or coordinate staff training in all FAA CFR Part 139 required subjects and assume responsibility for the annual FAA Certification Inspection. This individual will establish and maintain all FAA required documentation; ensure compliance with all City, State, and Federal regulations; develop, submit, and administer a multi-million dollar budget; create and implement schedules, forecast staffing, purchase equipment/materials and monitor expenditures. Will also be responsible for special events, such as the tabletop and full scale disaster exercises, VIP visits, and conduct media interviews. Salary is $31.528 - $42.226/ hour DOE, excellent benefits including overtime/standby pay.
Bachelor’s degree with course work in airport administration, business management, fire science, or a related field with three years of progressively responsible airport operations experience; or an Associate's degree in airport administration, business management, fire science, or a related field with five years of progressively responsible airport operations experience; or 10 years of experience in airport operations with a wide range of varying skills and experiences.
Experience in airport operations related to construction, facility maintenance, operation of heavy equipment, snow removal, and fire fighting is desired.
Two years of supervisory experience is preferred.
Possession of, or ability to obtain within ninety (90) days of employment, a valid State of Montana Class B, Type II commercial driver's license with airbrake and passenger endorsements.
Experience with and knowledge of airport operations and the general aviation industry is preferred.
