General Description and Classification Standards
Provides supervision and direction to the staff of the security department. Conducts security audits and reports on status of airport security. May assume responsibility for the department in the absence of the assistant director.
Bachelor's degree in aviation management, business management or related field.
5-7 years' security experience which included functioning as a lead or supervising member of a security staff.
Preferred Education & Experience
Masters degree in aviation administration, business administration or a related field and 10 years' in security management in an airport of medium to large size.
Prior experience managing large security operations, or managed police operations at the rank of captain or above.
Prior compliance management experience.
Licensures and Certifications
None required.
