The Valdosta-Lowndes County Airport Authority has an opening for Authority Executive Director/Airport Manager. Valdosta Regional is a non-hub Part 139 airport served by Delta Connection. Director shall be responsible for and have such powers as are necessarily incident to the operation, management, maintenance and promotion of all Airport activities and other duties as may be prescribed and granted by the Authority. Director shall maintain a harmonious and productive working relationship with the Authority; City, County, State and Federal agencies; Moody Air Force Base; Airlines; Fixed Base Operators and all other businesses at the Airport; Information Media; Airport employees. College degree in aviation management, public administration, business or related fields. Experience should consist of aviation management including supervision; knowledge of government finance/budgeting; computer skills; pilot experience highly desirable.
The Valdosta-Lowndes County Airport Authority owns and operates the Valdosta Regional Airport in Valdosta, Georgia. Valdosta is home to Valdosta State University, South Georgia Medical Center and Moody AFB. The airport is a Part 139 non-hub airport served by Delta Connection. The Authority is composed of six volunteer members; three are appointed by the City Council of Valdosta and three are appointed by the Lowndes County Board of Commissioners. The executive director of the Authority also serves as the airport manager for the Valdosta Regional Airport.
