This is a senior management position reporting directly to the Deputy Executive Director. This role provides oversight of the operations/maintenance departments, as well as the shuttle and custodial departments at the airport. The main responsibilities include planning, directing, and managing all aspects of the airport's certification, operation, maintenance, and public safety functions. This role ensures strict compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations to maintain a safe and efficient airport operation.
The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills to manage a diverse team and ensure smooth daily operations. They should possess excellent communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders, including government authorities, vendors, and tenants. A strategic mindset is crucial for long-term planning and development of operational processes to enhance overall efficiency. They must also have a deep understanding of airport operations, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance to uphold the highest standards of quality.
This position requires a proactive individual who can make critical decisions under pressure and adapt to dynamic situations as they arise. Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management or related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in airport management
Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and airport safety procedures
Excellent leadership and communication skills
Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders and departments
Proven track record of ensuring regulatory compliance and operational efficiency
The Central Illinois Regional Airport (CIRA), is owned and operated by the Bloomington Normal Airport Authority and located in Bloomington, Illinois.
