PSP pays 5% on top of base salary for Master's Degree.

Under general supervision, the Safety Management Systems (SMS) Manager is responsible for the planning, implementation, and operation of the Palm Springs International Airport’s SMS, Safety Certifications, and Airside Construction. Serves as the primary administrator of the Airport’s SMS software ensuring compliance and promotion of a safe work environment, emergency planning, airside construction procedures, and other associated operations consistent with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
As a member of the City's unclassified service, this is an "at-will" position and serves at the discretion of the City Manager.
Experience:
Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in the administration of safety compliance, risk management, or similar programs and one (1) year of experience with accident/incident report writing is required.
One (1) year of experience in a supervisory or lead role managing other employees is required.
Experience in an airport, airline, or military environment in airside, ground handling, or flight operations is preferred.
Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational Safety, Industrial Safety, Aviation Safety, Business, Public Administration, Risk Management, or related field, or any combination of education or experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities is required.
License or Certificates:
Possession of, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment, Safety Management Systems (SMS) Certification.
Possession of, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employment, OSHA Certification.
Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license is required.
Possession of an appropriate valid C.P.R. Certificate is required.
Possession of an Airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge, which is approved through the Federal Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is required.
