PSP pays 5% premium on top of base salary for graduate degree.

This position is assigned to the Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) and manages, reviews, oversees, and participates in the security and safety compliance programs and activities at PSP, including access control security and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) compliance. This classification has oversight of aviation security services and acts as a liaison between PSP and other local, state, and Federal law enforcement agencies on Homeland Security, Intelligence, and Emergency Operations issues. This classification also develops policies and procedures specific to the area of responsibility, determines budgetary needs, and is responsible for the training and development of personnel under their charge.
Experience:
Four (4) years of experience managing security and safety programs for a commercial airport, airline, or military environment, including one (1) year of supervisory experience is required.
Training:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Aviation Management, Business Management, Criminal Justice, or a related field, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities is required.
License or Certificates:
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid California driver license, with a satisfactory driving record is required.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an Airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge, which is approved through the Federal Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is required.
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid C.P.R. Certificate is required.
Airport Security Coordinator (ASC) credential is preferred.
Certified Member (C.M.) or Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) through the American Association of Airport Executives, or International Airport Professional (I.A.P.) through the Airport’s Council International designation is preferred.
