You will monitor, manage and ensure the safe, efficient, and secure operation of the entire Airport complex. Manages, monitors, and ensures the safe, efficient, and secure operation of the Airport complex. Maintains constant awareness of changing conditions, activities, and requirements affecting Airport operations. Patrols, monitors, and inspects the Airport complex to ensure all Airport operations mechanisms, procedures, and activities are in compliance with Federal requirements. Evaluates situations and directs personnel in response to incidents, emergency events, and problems and complaints. Ensures that Airport Operations Duty Managers under their supervision document all discrepancies and non-complying conditions concerning 14 FAR Part 139 and 49 FAR Part 1540 and 1542 found during each shift and are accurately included in a daily shift log. Ensures tenant activities are forwarded to appropriate parties and reports for follow-up actions are filed during each shift.
Seven years of progressively responsible experience in airport or airline operations as a full performance level Operations Officer, or in a comparable job class in airport or airline operations at either a 14 CFR Part 139 certified airport OR seven years of military air operations experience, OR a combination of the two provided that totals seven years of operations experience. Two of the seven years of experience must have been at a TSA Security Category I or higher airport as a full performance level Operations Officer, or in a comparable airline or military position. Knowledge of supervisory principles and ability to manage the operations and programs of the unit/team.
The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority operates a two-airport system that provides domestic and international air service for the mid-Atlantic region. The organization consists of more than 1,750 employees in a structure that includes central administration, airports management and operations, and police and fire departments.
The Airports Authority is not taxpayer-funded but is self-supporting, using aircraft landing fees, rents and revenues from concessions to fund operating expenses at both Airports. The Dulles Development Program is funded by bonds issued by the Authority, Federal and State Airport Improvement Program funds, and Passenger Facility Charges.
The Airports Authority is also responsible for the operation and maintenance of the Dulles Toll Road, and the construction and funding of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project. All revenues collected from the Dulles Toll Road are used to maintain the road, make improvements to the Dulles Corridor and help fund the Dulles Rail project. No Dulles Toll Road revenues are used to fund activities at either Reagan National or Dulles International.
Dulles Rail is a 23-mile extension of the Metrorail system to Dulles... International Airport and beyond to Loudoun County. Construction is underway on Phase 1 of the project from the existing East Falls Church Metro station to Wiehle Avenue in Reston with four stops in the Tysons Corner area. Phase 2 will continue the line along the median of the Dulles Access Road through Reston and Herndon to the Main Terminal at Dulles International, and finally, to Route 772 in Loudoun County.
