The Duluth Airport Authority (DAA) desires a highly qualified candidate to fill the Director of Operations, Planning, and Construction position in Duluth, MN. Position is full-time, requiring airport operations education and experience. Individual is responsible for leading and overseeing day-to-day operations and maintenance activities, at Duluth International and Sky Harbor Airports. Individual is responsible for short- and long-term operations, maintenance and capital planning and construction and acts as the operational liaison with airlines, government agencies, City of Duluth, tenants, and contractors. Responsible for airport compliance programs including FAR Part 139 and CFR 49 Part 1542.209. They will monitor deviations from Federal, State, and airport operations rules and regulations, analyze situations, determine priorities and make decisions that affect the daily operations of the airport.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Five years’ experience in aviation management and/or operations.
Four-year degree in Airport Operations, Management, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrable knowledge of Federal regulations pertaining to airport and air operations.
Supervisory training and or five years supervisory experience.
Demonstrable communication, public speaking, and writing skills.
Demonstrable use of computer-based programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Must pass background checks, drug test and be capable of meeting and maintaining FAA security requirements for unescorted access in the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA).
Must work at Duluth Airport Authority offices which involves travel to Duluth International Airport.
DESIRABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Certified Member (C.M.) or A.A.E. accreditation from the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).
Possess or ability to obtain certificate(s) of completion, within the first year of employment, in the Incident Command System 100, 200, 700, 800, 300, 400.
FAA pilot rating.

The Duluth Airport Authority is responsible for operating two airports DLH and DYT. The Duluth International Airport (DLH) is a non-hub airport hosting over 250,000 passengers annually.
