Plan and coordinate assigned financial activities and operations within the Aviation Department to include budgeting and development of policy recommendations; perform financial analytical duties in support of capital project budgets, grant administration and financial reporting; consolidate and analyze data for the presentation and monitoring of budgets; maintain accounting records and identify trends that may provide opportunity for improved efficiencies; and administering and controlling assigned budget functions including evaluation and reporting of key performance measures; coordinate assigned activities with other divisions, outside agencies and the general public and provide highly responsible and complex staff assistance to higher level management staff. Coordinate services and activities related to overall city enterprise and capital projects, including revenue estimating, cash flow management, financial reporting and contract and grant preparation; propose solutions to departmental problems. Participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, and priorities; recommend and implement resulting policies and procedures.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, accounting, or finance; and
Six (6) years of fiscal management experience to include a combination of three (3) years of experience in at least one (1) of the following specialty areas: capital projects, enterprise funds and/or grant administration; and
To include three (3) years of supervisory experience.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator’s Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Must be able to successfully qualify for and maintain a Sunport Access Control Card as determined by the criteria set forth by the policies and guidelines of the Aviation Department and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Successful completion of a security background check conducted by U.S. Customs & Border Protection, if applicable.
