This position leads daily airport operations across shifts, ensuring compliance with FAR Parts 77 and 139, as well as 49 CFR Part 1542 security requirements. The role represents the Airport when coordinating with tenants, agencies, the public, and during special events. Responsibilities include overseeing inspections of airfield pavements, navigational aids, safety areas, facilities, roadways, parking areas, terminal spaces, and security systems. The position supervises snow removal, identifies maintenance needs, issues work orders, and directs corrective actions. It prepares shift reports, documents incidents, and issues NOTAMs and FICONs, with authority to close the airfield during hazards. Additional duties include responding to emergencies, patrolling facilities for safety and security compliance, assisting with investigations and the security badging program, and monitoring access control systems. The role conducts wildlife mitigation, staffs the Dispatch Center during emergencies, mentors operations officers, and performs other assigned duties as needed to support airport operational effectiveness and overall safety.

• Knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars, FAR Parts 77, and 139, TSR Parts 1500, 1520, 1540, 1542, and 1544;
• Knowledge of Class I commercial airport and general aviation airports principles, best practices and operations;
• Knowledge of airport facilities, equipment, and tenant operations;
• Ability to coordinate airport certification program requirements with outside agencies and;
• Ability to drive and communicate in an airport environment under positive control of the Air Traffic Control Tower;
• Ability to operate a personal computer using standard or customized software applications appropriate to assigned tasks;
• Ability to use logical and creative thought processes to develop solutions according to written procedures and/or oral instructions;
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, using both technical and non-technical language;
• Ability to perform a wide variety of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and speed under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines;
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and decision-making ability in all situations;
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
• Ability to work shifts independently and in a team, days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays in a 7-day, 24-hour operating environment;
• Ability to be on-call and available for recall upon short notice.
• Ability to observe and act on physical and environmental surroundings and changing conditions.
• Knowledge of Standard English grammar, punctuation and spelling and ability to perform arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to effectively communicate with the public in a courteous, effective and tactful manner.
