This position is an entry to journey level Airport Firefighter and exists to provide Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) services to the Grand Canyon National Park Airport as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position provides first responder and firefighting services on any and all emergencies to outlying areas around and near the airport and assists the National Forestry in forest fire emergencies. Emergency situations include: aircraft accidents/incidents; aircraft passenger medical emergencies; motor vehicle accidents; hazardous material (HAZMAT) incidents/spills; mass casualty incidents; search/rescue/extrication missions; wildland fires; and other related suppression needs.
