Operate a centralized telephone, paging, intercom, and two-way radio communications console
Answer and properly route incoming calls
Respond to inquiries from airport tenants and the public regarding services, capabilities, responsibilities, and general information
Monitor CCTV (closed circuit television), security, fire alarms, and other related building operating systems
Determine the proper routing of emergency and non-emergency notifications
Develop and maintain communication logs and reports, which include information from callers, dispatch records, status of field units, and radio communications
Operate computer terminals and perform data entry
Retrieve information from computerized databases
Develop and maintain information references, maps, directories, reports, etc., in manual and computerized form to include spreadsheets and databases
Perform various inspections throughout the facility to ensure compliance with federal, state, and Airport rules and regulations
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Knowledge of aviation and security software programs; Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing
Successful candidates will have
High school diploma or GED
One year of full-time radio operations or related experience plus customer service experience
One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education.
Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
Ideal candidates will also have
Experience dispatching and deploying staff, vehicles, and/or units based on communications received
Experience working in emergency management, security, public safety, and/or aviation
Experience working in a customer service environment
Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Excel & Outlook
The Colorado Springs Airport (COS) is a city-owned, public-use commercial airport located in the heart of Colorado. COS is the primary-use airport for the Pikes Peak Region and Southern Colorado. The 3-runway airport is the second largest in the state. Designated as a small hub airport, the 12-gate terminal facility has scheduled air service on 5 airlines.
