The Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority (Authority) operates three airports including Memphis International Airport (MEM). The Authority is governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners, five appointed by the City of Memphis Mayor and two by the Mayor of Shelby County. Day-to-day management responsibilities are provided by the President and CEO.
As the home of Federal Express, MEM is the world’s busiest overnight airport. In addition, MEM’s nine commercial airlines served more than 2.6 million passengers in 2020.
