The Director, Worcester Regional Airport provides strategic leadership to ensure Worcester Regional Airport operates safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with federal aviation and security standards while serving the needs of the Central Massachusetts community. The position strengthens commercial air service, supports regional economic growth, and fosters partnerships with airlines, local governments, and business leaders to expand travel options for the region. It also advances Massport’s long term priorities by integrating safety, sustainability, operational excellence, and community engagement into all aspects of airport planning and daily operations.

Leads a diverse workforce with credibility and purpose, fostering a culture centered on safety, professionalism, accountability, and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional service to the Central Massachusetts community.
Ensures rigorous operational integrity by upholding all aviation, safety, and security standards, exercising sound judgment during dynamic situations, and strengthening cross?functional collaboration to maintain full compliance with federal regulatory requirements.
Builds and sustains trusted relationships with airlines, regional partners, local governments, and business leaders, serving as a visible ambassador who advances air service development, promotes general aviation, and supports Worcester’s broader economic vitality.
Demonstrates strategic and financial acumen by aligning budgets, capital programs, long?term planning, and organizational resources with Massport’s priorities, while proactively seeking innovations that enhance efficiency, resiliency, and the traveler experience.
What you offer:
Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management or a related field, or bring equivalent professional experience.
10+ years of airport management experience at a Small, Medium, or Large Hub or General Aviation Reliever airport; demonstrated experience in airport business development.
Deep expertise of airport and airfield operations, FAA airport certification requirements under FAA Part 139 requirements, and TSA security regulations.
Ability to work well under pressure during emergency incidents and/or with personnel operating under stressful conditions.
Collaboration with colleagues at all levels of leadership from all different disciplines, from Aviation to Maritime and beyond.
